YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
Although it may feel like you are alone. Menopause is tough like that. Nobody else seems to understand… not your husband, your boyfriend, your kids. Maybe your Mom does.
Have you ever found yourself saying things like this…
- I want my life back and to feel “normal” again.
- I want to feel like me again/I miss me
- I used to be happy all the time… not anymore.
- I just can’t seem to find the joy in anything anymore.
I never realized that fluctuating hormones can cause so much havoc to your body and your mind that it constantly scares the heck out of you. The physical symptoms are bad enough… aches and pains, bloating and cramps, dizziness, indigestion, etc, but the mental symptoms of anxiety, rage, anger, etc. can be so overwhelming they can render you almost unable to cope.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
If you are feeling some of these symptoms lately and can’t figure out “what is wrong with you”, you may be approaching perimenopause or pre-menopause.
I am not a doctor or a counselor. I am just a 50 year old woman struggling to understand and cope with a day to day life that is feeling increasingly unfamiliar. Who is this person who is angry all the time? Where did all of my energy go? Why can’t I tolerate wearing a bra anymore? And (the obvious) what the heck is going on with my period?
“This too shall pass!”
– Mom
As you read through the Menopause Strong website and share your stories, you can take comfort in knowing that other women may be struggling through the same issues and that, as my mother used to say… “this too shall pass!” (only hopefully sooner rather than later).
